Zoo Weather!!!

This weather is now officially zoo weather!!! I think we managed to go on the busiest day of the YEAR! The first day of spring was def the busiest that I have seen the zoo in a while. Aunt Lish, Greg, Bryson, Mason and I all managed to find a parking spot and get through the crowd and enjoy the zoo the other weekend!

Sorry I have not been up to date on pretty much anything that has been happening in Mason and my life!!! We have been sooo busy! Mason and I live by ourselves now :) Horray! I have been working my behind off, and plan on getting my property management liscense in April :)))
Mason is now almost 16 months old!!! He weighs 30 lbs! and is in the 100th percentile for EVERYTHING!

My baby turned 1 on Monday, November 30th! My Mom's parents came in from Florida Sunday to be able to spend Mason's 1st birthday with him! We had a little family get together this weekend. Next weekend is Mason's "big" birthday party!
I can't believe he is one year old! It amazes me how much time really does fly by, even after everyone tells you that it does, you don't really believe it until your little baby is one!! haha

This weekend we went to the reptile show (ewww), yes, I was completely grossed out 99% of the time. But, Mason enjoyed seeing all the weird looking animals, and of course David did too! So I had a "boys day" and put on a happy but scared face! haha

Nana & Grandpa Curry bought Mason a new Simmons bed that is sooo cute :) We love it, and so does Mason! Thank you Nana & Grandpa!!! Also, we are all moved in to our new home as of last weekend! Grandaddy and Grandma are making daily trips over to see Mason..haha I think they miss us ;)

The Deverse's for a day!

My friend Brandi Deverse is married to Chris, and they have a 4 year old son Tyler. They used to be our neighbors until they moved this summer alllll the way out to Lexington.
Friday, my babysitter couldn't watch Mason last minute, so I immediately started freaking out! because I had to work. Brandi called me and said she would be more than happy to watch Mason for the day and even come pick him up from my house for me! What a relief!!
They have a 9 week old puppy that Mason had a ball with, and of course had fun with Tyler! Brandi took lots of pics for me! Thank you Brandi, Chris, and Tyler! We love you soooo much :)

Mason's 1st Halloween!

10 month check up!

So we went to the doctor the other day for Mason's 9/10 month check up..(even though he will be 11 months next week)
I took my lunch break to take him, especially since he was due for 2 more shots :( Yuck! And he is at the age now where he can be mad at me for that. haha
When I got there they told me to strip him down to his diaper..and I did, but left his cute little red socks on because it was chilly in there!!
Well, as most of you know 10 month olds have a little attention span, and do not like being in a little room with everything child proof and nothing to play with!! So I started taking pics, and that entertained him for a while! lol 2 shots, a lot of crying, and some chik fil a later..we all felt better and had a great rest of the day!

Mason turned 10 months old last Wednesday!!! So exciting, he is crawling EVERYWHERE, pulling up on EVERYTHING, standing by himself, but has not taken any steps yet.
He drinks out of a sippy cup and bottle now, he looooves animal crackers and goldfish.
He loves animals (even though he is a little rough at times! lol)
He loves to take walks and be outside.
He is now wearing 18 month old clothes!
He loves to have his picture taken.
He loves his Mommy more than anything!!!!!!! haha

Sorry I have not been updated my blog religiously like I used to! We are moving November 6th!!!! Which is awesome, but stressful at the same time. I am having to find a new baby sitter for Mason because my Mom is retiring from watching him due to her health :( And David and I are both working full time, So things have just been hectic!

I have not given Mason any type of candy ever, until today! We were eating lunch at San Jose, and we go there often! lol The waiter asked if Mason liked candy, and I was said, I dont' know because he has not ever had any, so he came back with a HUGE sucker for Mason!
Of course, Mason loooved it! I didn't love the mess so much though, haha, he went straight to the bathroom and got wiped down after that! But, it was fun to see him with something new to try!

Florida!!!

Last Thursday evening we left for Florida! My Mom and brother were already down there at my grandparents house. Mason was amazing for the first 3 hours, the next 3 hours were not so much fun. We had a whole 5 days of fun, we got to celebrate Mom's birthday Friday.(I won't put how young she is on here! haha)
We ate at Breakers, my favorite restaurant to go to down there, we swam in the ocean and the pool, and went and got tattoos!!! haha
Mason was a little fussy the first couple of days, I think just from not being at home, but then he warmed up and had such a great time. Thank you Nana & Pa for having us, we love you soooo much :)

My friend Jen and I, (Jen is Cadens Mommy, and Caden is exactly 1 month younger than Mason), we have been trying to do a Mommys night out at least once a month where we are baby free, its very good to have these nights every once in a while :) Last night Jen, Scott, Amanda, Steve, Sammy and Shaun all came out to watch the UFC fight at ale house! It was tons of fun!

David's 23rd Birthday

David's birthday was July 8th! Sammy,Shaun, Amanda, Steve, me, David and Mason all went out to dinner and Mason sat at the head of the table and loved being able to see everyone, (he is such a ham) David fed him ribs and mashed potatos?!?! Which I was freaking out about until that night Mason only woke up once! haha Happy Birthday David, we love you :)

7 months!

Mason turned 7 months on June 30th! He now weighs 23 lbs, in a big boy carseat. He does not eat any baby food! haha He eats the toddler graduate meals, and most of whatever I eat, as long as it does not have dairy in it. He is just sooo wonderful, the older babies get the more fun and the easier it gets! :)

New Car Seat!

As most of you know Mason is a BIG boy! He has outgrown his infant car seat and now in a BIG BOY car seat!!! (still rear facing until 1). So today we went shopping for a car seat, so we would just sit him in them to test them out! He loved it, he thought he was def a big boy sitting up in his big boy car seat! My little man is getting so big, he will be 7 months on Tuesday :)

Big Boy!

Tonight, Heather, Addi, Mason and I all had dinner at Cracker Barrell! (Mason is now eating big boy food and he LOVES cracker barrell). The other times we have gone out to eat, I tried putting him in a high chair and he would fall to the side. Dr. G said it is because he is so big and has such a big head, it might take longer for him to gain his balance!haha So tonight, I sat him in a high chair and he loved it and ate at the table like a big boy! So exciting and cute :) Sorry about the pictures being kind of blurry, I don't know what is going on with my camera!!

Sunday Fundays!

Sundays are my only days off of work and school, so I have been taking Mason swimming on Sundays, and that is the day for me to actually be social and see people! haha We had so much fun, Mason is LOVING the pool :) and loved seeing Uncle Chris and Uncle Greg, AND he got to hang out with Uncle Dylan!! I'm glad Mason is going to have a bunch of awesome guys around him growing up to teach him boy things! haha

The other day one of my friends Mothers suggested giving Mason non seasoned beef jerky to chew on because of his teething. At first, I was like uhhh no. haha But, Mason now has his other bottom tooth coming in, and for those of you who have gone through babies teething stage you know its HORRIBLE! So, I got him some...he LOVED it..Even fell asleep with it. lol I know it looks like the beef jerky is in his eye, but I promise you its not!

Hiccups!

Yesterday, I caught a case of the hiccups. As soon as I made a first sound Mason looked at me like it startled him a little bit. While I was telling him "its okay bubba, Mommy just has hiccups.." I hiccuped again, and you would have thought I had did the funniest thing EVER, Mason was laughing so hard, like "belly" laughing as my Mom calls it! And, yes, this continued for the ENTIRE time I had hiccups..It was SO adorable, I couldn't help but to laugh with him because he was just so excited! The funniest part is he HATES when he gets hiccups, so I think maybe he was laughing because I had them and not him! haha I would have caught a video of this preciousness, but my Dad had to borrow my camera yesterday and take it to Washington D.C. (YEs, my Dad walked around with a pink camera...haha)

First Tooth

As many of you know who spend time around Mason, he drools like Crazy!! haha And lately it is waaay worse. Yesterday, I had to take him to the doctor because his eye was swollen (nothing wrong, have no idea why it was swollen for like an hour) And the doctor was doing her regular stuff, and looked in his mouth, and sure enough a tooth was ALMOST through the gums, and another one is coming in too. (The two bottom teeth) Today it came through the gum!! Mason officially has his first tooth!!! Dr. G said that the other one will be in by the end of the weekend.
Mason is now on stage 2 foods along with his rice cereal twice a day! I am going to start introducing a "sippy cup" next week on his 6 month birthday. He doesn't take a pacifier, so if I can get him off a bottle too! I will have it made :) haha He is 29 inches long and weighs 21 lbs!!! He is a chunk!
Most of you know I started back work and school, so I am in school two days a week and work 4 days a week, SO HECTIC right now!

Riley's 1st Birthday!!

My friend Summers' daughter, Riley turned 1 today! Summer and I also work together, so we were thinking of where to have her birthday party at on a late notice, and we thought the park would be fun!
The rain held off until after we left, which was great! Riley was such a ham, and is the most precious baby girl!! Happy Birthday Riley!

Lately, Mason and I have been spending a lot of time outside enjoying this weather, because it was winter when he was born, so we didn't go outside for any long period of time.
When Mason was first born the put hats on all the newborns to keep them warm, as most of you know from my previous posts on my old blog, Mason HATED to wear hats, even since birth. We would try to keep a hat on him since it was so cold when he was born, he was NOT having it..at all. Would just cry and cry, and as soon as you took it off, he would be completely fine!! So funny, I have no idea why he disliked it so much.
Well, since we have been spending time outside, and Mason is kind of bald (lol) I don't want the sun in his eyes, or for him to get a sunburn on his head! I decided to at least try a hat on him today while we were at Old Navy, just to see what he would do. He loved it!!! He got upset when I took it off! haha
So, I had to leave it on his head while I shopped and the cashier scanned the tag from off his head! haha He looks SO grown up in it! and SO cute!
This just proves how MUCH babies change in just months :)

My first Mothers Day as a Mommy was so wonderful!!! This morning Mason and I got up and decided to go swimming with our friends and family :) We had so much fun, even though Mason is not too sure about the pool water yet. He is not a big fan of it!
But, we still had a great time with friends and family, then went to Carrabba's after a long day of fun in the sun for dinner! so yummy!
Thank you for everyone who sent cards and called today! Means a lot! and Thank you Mason for being the best baby boy anyone could ask for ;)

My Chunky Monkey!

The other day Mason and I slept in until 10:30am!!!! It was raining and dark out, so I think that made us sleep longer. Sooo since Mason usually wakes up at 7:30, that was a good chunk of time out of our usual morning schedule, sooo at about 10:30 that night Mason was still WIDE AWAKE! Which is rare bc he usually is in bed at 8pm. We were outside (fresh air helps babies sleep) and he was so awake and ready to play, I caught this video of him :)

Things seem to be slowing down, and falling into place. I still feel a little empty and rundown at times though. Mason was on his perfect schedule starting at 2 months old sleeping from 7pm-7am everynight, to now waking back up 3-4 times a night! Dr. Guerkink,(mason's wonderful pediatrician) said that it is probably due to teething.
Needless to say, I am exhuasted throughout the day from waking up so much at night. It's like he is a newborn again! So, sometimes I get drained pretty quick. My diet of almost nothing doesn't help either! My nerves get so bad sometimes where I just can't eat. I am working on trying to make a better diet for myself though!
I started back work finally! I am only working a couple days a week though because I start school may 18th going on Mondays and Wednesdays. I don't know how I am going to handle NO SLEEP, school, work and Mommyhood!! By a lot of prayer I guess!
Mason is now 20 pounds! on the growth chart it says he is bigger than 100% of all babies his age! haha He is in 12 month clothes too. He rolls over constantly, especially when I am trying to get him dressed! He still LOVES his toes and feet. And of course, LOVES his Mommy :) He is VERY attatched to me, I think that is because I have been with him 24/7 since he has been born..

Crawfish Festival

Today was the Crawfish Festival in downtown Columbia on Rosewood Drive. I thought that my Mom was going to baby sit Mason during the day, but she came down with a cold. Realizing that having a baby limits you to almost nothing, I thought I would just spend my Saturday inside instead of going. But, my friend Caroline and her husband Rick live right on Rosewood, and have a 2 year old son (Christian), called me and asked me if I was coming! And that she was bringing her son too. So, me and Jen decided to pack up Mason and go! Caden was at Scott's Mom's house for the weekend, so she was baby free! Whoo Hoo!
We had tons of fun, despite getting rained on for about 10 minutes! The bands were good, the food was good, and the company was GREAT!

This morning I was so excited for Mason's first Easter, I put him in his adorable Easter outfit. He was not having that, it had a sweater vest and he HATED it. I took it off and decided to let my Dad watch Mason while I went to church since I knew the nursery would be sooo crowded on Easter.
I went to Seacoast (my new church) with Brett, Michelle, and Samantha. It was such an amazing service...Def touched my heart with all this stuff I am going through!
After church me and the family went to my Nana's house to have lunch! We had so much fun.

As most of you know, my Dad has taken over all the publicity for Lexington County Sherriff's Dept. he does all the D.U.I. commercials, and the radio commercials...Tonight he was on WOLO for a thing on street racing they did, since he is the head of the Traffic Division for Lex. County! I thought it was too funny, his new name is Mr. Hollywood!

Xtra Xtra WIDE!

I took Mason on one of our many weekly trips to Target, and I saw some adorable flip flops for babies! I took off his socks and tried to put them on, didn't fit, then I tried some crocs, didn't fit. Went to extra wide...still didn't fit! Extra Extra Wide Mason's fat foot barely squeezed into!!!
My sons' feet are as long as they are wide!! haha So, shoes is going to be a tough find for us!

Mason has discovered his feet and toes....and wants to eat them!!! haha He is now in his teething stage where he is putting EVERYTHING in his mouth (my hair, fingers, cell phone, earrings, his hands, his feet and toes!)

My brother has only held Mason a twice since he has been born, he wasn't very interested in a newborn baby (what 18 year old boy is????) But, now that he is getting older and able to interact with Cody, I think Cody is taking more to him and they are developing their own little relationship now! It is too cute!
Cody picked Mason up the other day after Mason's bath and walked him around! He didn't want me to get a picture, but I did anyway! haha We love you Uncle Cody!

4 month old Doctor Visit/Shots :(

Mason went to his 4 month old doctor visit today, which included a 3rd round of shots :( But, like the first time he got them he didn't cry!!! Yes, I have a manly man for a son already!
The funny thing is that in the length he is off the growth chart...above the 100th percentile! The nurse Ms. Nikki thought she measured him wrong at first! He is also off the chart for his head size, and in the 75th percentile for his weight. Needless to say, he is one healthy BIG boy!
The shots made him sick today, and he has a fever though :( WHich is one of the reasons I hate him getting shots, but tomorrow he should be back to normal!

Grandaddy Jimmy

Mason's Great Grandaddy Jimmy came over today to visit Mason for the first time! Mason holds a special place in Gradaddy Jimmy's heart, because Mason is named after his Father, and his Grandfather :) And Mason is Grandaddy Jimmy's only Great-Grandson, and I am his only Granddaughter!
We had so much fun, talking and Mason is starting to get the age where he just doesn't go to everyone, and he went straight to him (I think because he looks JUST like my Dad) haha I'm so glad that Mason will have so many grandparents who love him and care about him in his life! Also, amazing men as Father figures to look up to!

This is a video of him I took the other day..We were playing a game and he was giggling and laughing, but everytime I turn the camera on to get it on tape, he seems to be more involved with the camera then what is going on around him! haha But still cute :)

Seacoast Church

I have been trying to find a church for Mason and I to start going to. I had heard about Seacoast from a lot of different people. Today I went, my Mom was watching Mason, so I thought it would be good for me to check out the nursery and everything first anyway. Because I am totally picky about who watches him!!
I went by myself, and was greeted by such happy and positive people who were so eager to help me, and show me around the church! I did see some familiar faces, but no one I really "know". The nursery was amazing, and I think it might take me a little bit to get to know the people that work in there before I just leave Mason in there! (Not that they didn't seem very sweet and nice.)
So, I found a seat, and when the pastor told everyone to turn to someone and greet them, my friend Ashley Blocker, Milner now, she just got married, found me and gave me a great big hug and asked me to join her and her husband and sit and worship with them! I was so happy to see her, (My Nana taught her piano since she was 5 years old.)
The message today was wonderful, and about compassion, and seeing people beyond what they are....Seeing them for what they might be going through, is causing them to act a certain way. Which, is right down my alley! I really enjoyed the service!
My ex boyfriend from forever ago, his Mother attends there, and is very sweet and has been through so much. After the service, she knows my story, and what I have been going through, she gathered some of her friends, and they all stood and held my hands and prayed for Mason and I..of course, I was in tears... My faith is slowly starting to be repaired..and I am glad..I did see someone today that I really didn't want to see after church, but I tried to feel humble, instead of hatred...and I think it helped to pray too. I will definetly be going back next Sunday! If anyone else is looking for a new church, come join Mason and I next week! It is contemporary though :)

Whenever you have a baby, everyone seems to have advice, and tell you their stories of their children. I was one of the soon-to-be Mothers that listened to everything everyone had to say about babies and parenting. Absorbing it all in, like I would just not have a clue about my child if I didn't listen to all these people!

Now, I know that everything everyone else said doesn't even compare, or relate to your own child. I was so terrified at times, and in denial that I was going to be a Mother. Until recently, I think it all finally set in after a few months of Motherhood, that I am responsible for Mason's life, and I am his Mother.

At times, (don't let anyone fool you), it gets extremely tough. But, I also am sure that if I had another set of hands to help me I would probably manage a little better. I just continue on my path as a Mother, and have learned to accept what I have been delt. Things to get easier the older he gets too. I think its my overwhelming feelings of guilt that get to me the most. From my whole new situation.

I know Mason is way too young to even understand what is going on. I mean, as long as he is fed, changed, burped, and bathed, he is the happiest little boy out there! But, for me, its more of the long term stuff that gets to me. The questions Mason will have for me when he gets older. I find myself running through answers in my head, of what I could tell him, to not make him feel unwanted, or unloved in anyway.

Last night, I started thinking a million miles per hour about everything. and Mason when he gets older, and then I realized that I don't need to be thinking about what lies so ahead in the future. I need to be cherishing these moments of true innocence and happiness that he has, that just over flows the room. Why should I be making myself feel bad, for somethings that have not even happened yet, and won't happen for years!?

Over the past year, I admit, my faith has faded into almost nothing. I know it's sad. I think once I start to re-instate my faith, I can start to think more positivley about my life, and my sons' life. That is my new goal to start focusing on.

Now that Mason is holding his head up, he can play in his exersaucer! He isn't so used to the idea yet, of being suspended in the air, with a bunch of toys around him yet..but he is getting there! haha My cousin Renee bought it for him, Thank you Renee! We love you :)
